Traditional OEMs are under pressure from fast, unconventional competitors, all within a volatile geopolitical environment. While many EV challengers will fade, a few will succeed - and could force legacy OEMs into failure or consolidation.

To survive and thrive, OEMs must focus on conversational AI, in-car productivity and entertainment, and monetizing digital experiences - critical elements for reinforcing brand value and reducing dependence on Big Tech.

Seafarix’s roots trace back to Nokia’s MeeGo program. Though our FOSS-based mobile OS didn’t succeed commercially, it taught us vital lessons now serving our automotive partners. Efficiency with limited resources, smart use of FOSS, and challenging outdated processes are essential for OEMs navigating today’s disruption.

In this new era, embracing a software-first mindset, AI integration, and new forms of partnerships is no longer optional - it’s survival.
